Coming up soon …

It’s nearly Christmas – and we bring you the gift of laughter!

November 25th may be a month ahead of Christmas, but we’re giving you a great gift – laughter! With a fabulous line-up (not a single ‘turkey’, each is a ‘star’) this is sure to be a great beginning to your festive season – we hope you’ll be ‘present’.
Be a ‘wise man’ (or woman) and buy your tickets now !

Will Duggan is our wonderful headliner, a superb standup, performing sharp honest comedy delivered with an arsenal of fine-tuned vocabulary. He mixes stories and gags with a cheerfully cynical view of the world.
‘A must-see for comedy aficionados’  –
“Incisively witty material which ploughs genuinely original comedic terrain” – Spotlight Comedy
“Go and see Will Duggan if you get the chance” – Gigglebeats

Sandi Smith  opens the evening and is a fabulous comedian, telling her stories with ascerbic wit whilst managing to maintain a warm connection with her audiences.
“Sandi is very, very funny” – Patrick Monahan
“Very good indeed, great material and audiences love her” – Nick Page
“Sandi really lit up the room” – Guide2Bristol

In the middle section, appearing once more will be Andrew White in what he has made his own  regular Fordingbridge Five spot!
Continuing the quality comedy will be Riordan DJ, who was the Winner of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2017 and blends observational comedy with surreal one liners to hilarious effect, and the unforgettable Alf,  a one liner comic, whose act consists of giant props, music and lots of jokes.
“Razor Sharp Puns, Songs and Props that even Tim Vine would be proud of” –Hamdon Ha Ha

So whatever Christmas itself brings you  give yourself, your family and friends the gift of laughter  on Saturday Nov 25th.

Non-members of The RBL are welcome. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start. There’s free (after 6pm) car parking close by and a full bar service for those not driving – what more could you want for a great night of fun and laughter in the centre of Wimborne.
Our September show sold out beforehand, so get your tickets now !

Make sure you’re on our mailing list to hear our news, especially our Early Bird tickets (buy before they’re available to the general public – and at a discounted price!).

Saturday 2nd December sees the second of an occasional series of gigs in the Swanage RBL Club – those who attended  the first will testify that laughter was in no short supply thanks to some brilliant acts. And, once more we’ve pulled out all the stops to get your festive season off to a cracking start – four great and varied acts!

Our headliner is the wonderful  Phil Jerrod – cynical, astute and impassioned, his densely-packed rants encapsulate the state of British society today. Generously bearded and in the onset of early middle-age he gives the impression of a Tasmanian Devil from the English countryside.
“seems destined to become a comedy connoisseurs’ favourite” – Steve Bennett, Chortle

Opening we have Louis Burgess – an audiophile and self diagnosed techno-leg sufferer, he is a fire hydrant of comedy. Blapping bare mandem in the face with his unique blend of comedy, music and cashews, he delivers high octane musical comedy for the modern era.

We have a great middle section with Julie Oliver – left to herself she’ll cover obscure subjects such as Concorde and falconry, but can be herded back onto mainstream topics like Asda’s policy for naming their ranges (badly in her opinion) – and Phil Lucas.
Phil was once bitten by a pig on top of a nuclear bunker and now wants to do a forward roll on the M25 and show you his Kate Garraway saucepan.
“A huge hit with the audience.” –
“Mr Lucas is wonderfully funny. Our new favourite thing.” – The Huffington Post
“Please stop tweeting me. I’m not going to channel the spirit of Colonel Gaddafi for you.” – Derek Acorah, Psychic Medium.

All this in the centre of Swanage, with a great atmosphere and a full bar service – and only a fiver (the last night sold out beforehand so don’t delay, buy today online or at The Swanage RBL Club).

The following comedy nights are currently scheduled for 2017 and 2018. Book your holidays around them, because our line-ups are getting stronger and stronger !

This year’s Wimborne Comedy Club will run at The RBL on  Sep 30th and Nov 25th, whilst next year’s dates are Feb 24th, Apr 28th, Jun 30th, Sept 29th and Nov 24th.
